Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-Ga.) is projected to win another term in the Senate, according to Decision Desk HQ.
Ossoff successfully fended off challenger Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.).
Ossoff is leading with about 80% of the vote to Collins’s nearly 20% with 11% of precincts reporting.
Georgia was an opportunity for the GOP in the Senate, as it was a state President Donald Trump carried in 2024. However, Ossoff’s reelection was hardly in doubt as he consistently led in polling and easily outraised his opponent throughout the campaign.
Ossoff has been seen as a rising star among Democrats since he first won an open Senate seat in Georgia in 2020. His stock has been rising over the past year, and he has been the subject of increasing presidential speculation.
The senator has repeatedly denied an interest in running for president and has said he is focused on winning reelection to his Senate seat.
During a debate with Collins last month, Ossoff pledged to serve the entirety of his six-year term in the Senate if reelected.
“I have zero interest in running for president. I’m not running for president. I’m running for reelection to the Senate,” he said.
