Ukrainian officials say speed restrictions on SpaceX’s Starlink and military-grade Starshield remain in place despite President Donald Trump’s claim that Elon Musk restored access. The limits reportedly disconnect terminals moving at around 100 mph and have disrupted Ukrainian attack and interceptor drone operations, potentially complicating air defenses. The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump called Musk to ask him to lift the restrictions, though Trump has not confirmed the call and accounts differ over whether Musk, the U.S. government or military ordered the limits; Trump has publicly defended Musk. Ukraine says it is monitoring connectivity and seeking answers. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick has called for congressional oversight, public hearings and sworn testimony, saying possible legal violations should be investigated and officials held accountable; he said lawmakers from both parties backed an investigation and planned to discuss Starshield and Ukraine’s defense with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
